Last week, to the delight of every child who ever clutched a dog-eared copy of Eloise or From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, the New York Public Library, which is celebrating 125 years in 2020, revealed its list of 125 Kids Books We Love. Compiled by NYPL librarians, the book list — which follows the library’s grownup-oriented 125 Books We Love — encompasses a huge variety of kid-loved titles, including acknowledged classics and acclaimed newcomers, graphic novels, picture books, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
