Music fans of a certain vintage will recall May of 1987 with some fondness, when Aussie quintet Crowded House sat at No. 2 on the U.S. charts with “Don’t Dream It’s Over.” This week, to celebrate the anniversary — and to add a touch of sweet nostalgia to Australia and New Zealand’s “Music from the Front Lines” benefit concert, the band reunited, so to speak, to produce a from-home rendition of the song. The result, to borrow some ’80s parlance, is righteous.
