Virginia
What’s Here: Set on 312 acres with roughly half a mile of Rapidan River frontage, this sprawling country estate dates to 1854, and it’s listed on both the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places. In a state bursting with historic homes, this c.1854 stunner may be one of Virginia’s most remarkable examples of Classical Revival/Neoclassical architecture, with its distinct Doric columns and “M”-shaped copper roof. The five-bedroom, 6,435-square-foot residence has been meticulously renovated by historic preservation contractor Alexander Nicholson, who was also responsible for restoring the President’s House at the University of Virginia — you’ll find original doors, mantels, and historic heart pine floors all intact. Beyond the main house, the estate includes a restored summer kitchen, guest cottage, conservatory, pool and pool house, stables, a manager’s cottage, and farm infrastructure.
What We Love: The estate is protected by a conservation easement, and the property’s 312 acres of highly productive crop and pasture land can be augmented with an additional 403 acres that also available for purchase. Also: It’s just 70 miles southwest of Washington, D.C.

New Jersey
What’s Here: Urban living at its loveliest, just across the Hudson from Manhattan. This beautiful Hoboken townhouse comes with a separate carriage house boasting a one-bedroom duplex apartment, a bonus living space that’s ideal for multi-generational family structures. The main house offers five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms spread over four floors of living space and there’s also garage parking. The parlor floor has 11-foot ceilings, a formal living room and dining room (both with fireplaces) and an enormous kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, including a custom copper hood that vents to the roof. The two upper floors house four bedrooms, including a primary suite with its own fireplace, while the garden level has a home gym and a one-bedroom apartment that can be used for guests or as a rental unit.
What We Love: The garden, which has built-in planters, a water feature, and a gas fire pit, also enough space for a full grill and a dining table and chairs, allowing for relaxed summer meals al fresco, perhaps even garnished with some fresh homegrown herbs and Jersey tomatoes?

New York City
What’s Here: A prewar Upper West Side penthouse perched above Central Park West in an Emery Roth-designed Art Deco landmark. Arrive into an open living and dining space, an entertaining nexus on herringbone oak that stands out with its double-sided fireplace, built-in bar area, and French doors to an immense southern- and western-facing terrace. Follow the finely hewn moldings to the kitchen, where charm radiates from custom cabinetry and a built-in casement-window banquette. In the bedroom wing, discover a second terrace spanning the residence’s entire north side. No need to argue over who sleeps where — all three bedrooms boast dedicated access to the broad outdoor space.
What We Love: Not only does living in the instantly recognizable El Dorado come with the ready-made humblebrag, “I live in the instantly recognizable El Dorado,” but residents also enjoy amenities such as a 24-hour doorman, concierge service, and a fitness center with a half-court basketball court. And, of course, Central Park in all its majesty is directly across the street. That’s pretty nice, too.

If you’re not hopping off the couch directly into the heated swimming pool, you could be serving for match point on the Padel court (also ideal for other racquet sports), dining beneath the louvered pergola with retractable screens, or keeping warm around the fire pit — should that be too crowded, try the pool house’s covered patio blessed with a wood-burning fireplace.

Georgia
What’s Here: A gorgeous riverfront estate, set on 5.58 acres, with a magnificent three-bedroom home at its heart. Originally built in 1941, the house, with more than 5,000 square feet of living space, is a perfect blend of stately grandeur and welcoming comfort. The primary suite has its own fireplace and a spa-style bathroom, while a library and an additional bonus room above the garage can be transformed into additional bedrooms or home offices, as needed.
What We Love: The grounds — all set next to Oconee River — are spectacular, with a terraced lawn, saltwater pool, outdoor kitchen, screened garden house, and even a pickleball court. In fact, the beautiful gardens were chosen as a stop on the 2025 Piedmont Garden Tour, an annual tour of Athens‘ most notable gardens.

Florida
What’s Here: Vivid personal paradise in the Venetian Islands chain, off the coast of Miami Beach. Sleek seclusion reigns supreme as you enter through a picture-perfect courtyard to an open floor plan dotted with flourishes like the sweeping central staircase, the glass wine display framing the dining room, or the kitchen’s marble breakfast island. Meanwhile, floor-to-ceiling telescopic glass doors slide aside throughout this eight-bedroom escape, melting away any barriers between inside and out — everywhere from the living room to the primary bath. A palm-shaded pool area is the blissful cherry on top.
What We Love: Although perhaps implicit when talking about living on an island, the views available to you at this home are wide-open and jaw-dropping. Stare across gloriously blue Biscayne Bay toward Miami Beach proper from a poolside lounger, a deep soaking tub, or just about anyplace else you dream of not having another care in the world.

Northern California
What’s Here: This Pacific Heights five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath icon was originally designed in 1910 by Bakewell & Brown, the architects behind San Francisco’s City Hall, Temple Emanu-El, and Coit Tower. Built as part of the city’s great post-1906 earthquake reconstruction, the house has been transformed by Mosaic Architects into a modern residence while honoring its architectural lineage. The primary suite offers its own sitting area, spa-style bathroom, and expansive closets.
What We Love: The connection between the indoor spaces and the outdoor spaces is truly inspired, with an intimate courtyard on the main floor, a garden with an overlooking deck, and most spectacularly, a rooftop media room that opens with retractable doors onto two decks with views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Hawaii
What’s Here: Hale Ohia is a masterpiece that embodies the Hawaiian spirit. This 8,178-square-foot estate has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, distributed between the primary house, a separate guest ohana, and a spacious apartment above the garage, offering plenty of room for guests, extended family, or staff. “Hale” means house in Hawaiian and “Ohia” is a reference to the wooden logs harvested from the ʻōhiʻa lehua trees, a species native to Hawaii. More than 250 Ohia logs are used throughout the house, supporting the lanai, framing the doorways, and rising to the Lauhala ceilings, firmly rooting the residence to a sense of place. The ʻōhiʻa lehua tree is now protected, making this residence impossible to ever recreate.
What We Love: Every room radiates a spirit of welcome, from the curved bamboo bar and game lounge inside to the amazing lanai, where waterfalls, koi ponds, and a resort-style pool and spa create a space for everyone to gather.

What’s Here: Cambridge, Ontario, is known for its film-worthy neighborhoods and architecture, and this Georgian classic, built in 1928, is so postcard pretty that every corner is ready for its closeup. A six-bedroom, six-bathroom corner estate, set in West Galt’s coveted Dickson Hill, greets residents and guests alike with a majestic circular portico, ivy-covered brick, and neatly trimmed hedges. Plus, there are multiple spaces for entertaining, including a light-filled living room with a fireplace, a pretty sun room with a wet bar, and a charming home office. All the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and under the eaves are a mix of flexible spaces to be designated as you wish.
What We Love: The back of the house is equally grand as the front, boasting a pool, formal gardens, and a private laneway that leads to a detached two-car garage. The bedrooms feel like private sanctuaries, with slanted roofs in several rooms, and more floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto balconies offering lake views.
What We Love: Bardolino is ideal for both a year-round residence or as a second home destination, with its mild weather and delicious local produce — with its wine and olive oil so famous that the town has a museum dedicated to each. Its lakefront location offers plenty of boating opportunities, while the nearby hills are replete with beautiful hikes.
