As it did all over the world, the pandemic forced the cancellation of live events on the famous stage of Harlem’s Apollo. To brighten its financial outlook — and to provide micro-grants to neighborhood merchants and small businesses around 125th Street — the Apollo is doing what it does best: putting on a show. The lineup for tonight’s “Let’s Stay In Together” benefit will be legendary, including such talents as Dionne Warwick, Gary Clark Jr., Doug E. Fresh, Teddy Riley, Kool & the Gang, Vernon Reid, Ziggy Marley, Michael McDonald, and many more (including, says the Apollo, some surprises). The free show starts online at 7:30. Give generously at apollotheater.org, and while you’re there, be sure to bid on a pair of very sweet limited-issue Gibson guitars.
