A lot of the advice around social distancing is pushing the upsides: Comfy clothes, time with family, lots of free time for self-improvement. But that last one can be an oppressive bit of optimism. The fact is, just keeping things running smoothly can be hard right now, and there’s no need to put unrealistic demands on yourself. If a workout regimen or baking lesson makes you happy, go for it — but Netflix and a trashy novel are perfectly acceptable coping mechanisms.
