Virginia
What’s Here: This historic estate is the largest home in Old Town, Alexandria, set on a half-acre lot, and takes up a quarter of the block, covering more than 14,000 square feet of interiors. Originally built in 1854, this iconic mansion is one of the few remaining Old Town single-family houses of the era that has not been split or redeveloped into condos. The house has seven bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and four powder rooms, and then on the ground level, two additional apartments. Each two-bedroom apartment spans 1,194 square feet, has one-and-a-half bathrooms, a full kitchen, a washer-dryer, and a dedicated HVAC unit. The primary living quarters are spectacular, showcasing historic details like the original plaster ceiling rosettes; 13 fireplaces, with 12 of them boasting original mantels; stained-glass accents; original heart pine floors; and the original crown molding.
What We Love: Embrace the old ways of formal living and just say no to the open floor plan — instead, luxuriate in an enormous double parlor with two fireplaces, a formal dining room with a butler’s pantry, a eat-in country kitchen (also with a fireplace), a study for after-dinner conversation, a conservatory with skylights and oversized windows, and a library with an entire wall of built-in bookshelves. There’s also a widow’s walk for Potomac River views.

North Carolina
What’s Here: This extravagant getaway sits directly on the shores of Lake Norman, on 1.45 secluded acres. Relaxed and refined living is the name of the game in this manor, boasting four suites, each bedroom graced with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bucolic surroundings and en suite bathrooms with soaking tubs and walk-in showers. The primary suite has a walk-in closet that’s swoon-worthy, with glass doors covering the built-in shelves and a central island, making it easy to “shop your closet” for your outfit of the day.
What We Love: The home theater and gym inside, and outside (in addition to an outdoor kitchen and fire pit), a vanishing edge pool with a 100-foot outdoor TV and a swim-up bar. There’s a private dock, too.

Northwest Florida
What’s Here: Surrounded by nature, this four-bedroom house in Santa Rosa Beach takes its style cues from the sylvan environment, its rooms accented with blond wood, creating a tranquil, light-filled, Scandinavian vibe. Exposed ceiling beams, kitchen cabinets (and a matching cabinet refrigerator), window frames, stair railings, and doors are all made from wood in the same pale palette, tying the whole house together. The star of the house is the third-floor primary suite, which takes up the entire floor, and includes a bedroom entirely clad in wood, including a pitched ceiling, an oval window and dormer windows; a sitting area with matching windows; and an en suite bathroom, also entirely clad in wood, giving the whole space the air of a sauna, with a soaking tub, a walk-in shower, and dual closets.
What We Love: Outside, there’s a large heated pool with water flowing out of three lion heads, a pool house, and plenty of seating for dining and relaxing outside. There’s also a carport with an electric charging station.

South Florida
What’s Here: This deftly designed five-bedroom charmer ably takes the open floor plan concept about as far as you can. A central courtyard forms a nexus on the home’s main level; fully retractable doors link it to four separate areas, forming a breezeway of sorts and fostering an undeniable resort villa atmosphere befitting Palm Beach. Soaring ceilings create an even greater sense of openness, regardless of whether you’re hosting in the living and dining rooms or letting the day blow by from the covered poolside patio. Meanwhile, marble and wood accents, crown moldings, and stately built-ins underscore a honed attention to detail.
What We Love: The finished lower level is extra in all the right ways. It’s poised to entertain with a temperature-controlled wine room, a golf simulator, a fitness studio, a 10-seat home theater, and much more.

East End
What’s Here: This pristine Southampton property treats you to an elevated take on the boathouse, complete with a private dock granting access to tranquil Shinnecock Bay. The west-facing estate also features brick-paved paths, a tennis court, and a seaside swimming pool across its marvelously private acreage. Glass French doors help the exterior and interior effortlessly blend. Once inside, the five-bed residence strikes a dazzling pose between beachy and country vibes. Gracefully entertain in an ever-welcoming living room, sit and sip morning coffee on a breakfast nook banquette, or soak up an unending dose of sunset vistas.
What We Love: Simply cross Meadow Lane for direct Atlantic Ocean access at a quintessential white-sand Hamptons beach.

Manhattan
What’s Here: As you scale this Tribeca townhouse’s five floors of living space, you’ll uncover form and function in blissful harmony. Come for the open-plan great room’s double-height ceiling and custom Bulthaup kitchen. Stay for its heated limestone flooring and wood-burning fireplace encased in black quartzite. Take up space in the full-floor-encompassing primary suite boasting a spa-worthy, natural stone-bedecked ensuite. Fully customize the vast second-floor bonus room, awash in natural light through a full-ceiling skylight. Blend interior and exterior on the top floor, where ceiling-height glass doors lead from a den to a personal rooftop terrace offering unobstructed downtown views.
What We Love: Architect John Petrarca wholly reimagined the now glass-and-steel-clad building in 2001 with an eco-conscious mindset that prioritized natural, non-toxic materials. Concrete walls provide added energy and sound insulation. The great room’s walnut accents stem from repurposed trees. A fully integrated ventilation and filtration system ensures the home’s interior is always a breath of fresh air.

Brooklyn
What’s Here: Light up your life at this Greenpoint penthouse, accessible via private elevator. The upper level of this home features a full-floor great room bathed in sunshine thanks to its multiple exposures, including floor-to-ceiling windows and two skylights resembling openings in the clouds from 12 feet overhead. Move like the breeze across wide-plank walnut floors from living to dining to kitchen — the lattermost decked out with custom white lacquer cabinetry and smart Miele appliances like an electric wall oven and an induction cooktop. All three bedrooms reside on the lower level, creating a prevailing air of solitude still awash in natural warmth.
What We Love: Multiple outdoor spaces, including a standout rooftop terrace. The condo’s topmost section adds extensive exterior area atop Brazilian hardwood flooring. It would feel far more like a country summer escape, with its built-in grill and luxe outdoor shower, if not for the 360-degree New York City panoramas surrounding it.
Listed By: Tom Le and Sarale Fellig of Corcoran’s Williamsburg Office.
New Jersey
What’s Here: A modern and sprawling seven-bedroom, completed in 2023 on six acres in the heart of Morris County, that’s optimized for grand-scale entertaining and sumptuous everyday living. Both primary suites (yes, it has two — one on the ground floor and another upstairs) are outfitted with linear gas fireplaces to set the mood on cool nights. Outside, there’s a sizable back deck, an outdoor kitchen, and a pool. New Vernon is part of Harding Township, a short drive from larger Morristown and Summit. Commuting to Manhattan? NJ Transit trains are available nearby at Basking Ridge on the Montclair-Boonton line, as well as Madison and Chatham on the Morris & Essex Line.
What We Love: A wine storage room and three wet bars — one in a nook in the dining area, one in a primary suite, and one in the home theater on the lower level — to ensure you’ll always have the good stuff close at hand. There’s also a professional-grade fitness room with rubber flooring, a wall of mirrors, a separate massage room, and all the necessary equipment (which is included in the sale).

Westchester
What’s Here: A prewar charmer in Sleepy Hollow’s Philipse Manor neighborhood, with slate blue wooden shutters and trim that accentuate its storybook looks. On the inside, the rooms are large, bright, and cheerful. The ground floor has an expansive living room that opens onto the sunroom, while an L-shaped kitchen opens into both a breakfast nook and a formal dining room. Four bedrooms are on the second floor, while the finished basement has a full bathroom and a separate entrance and can serve as a guest bedroom.
What We Love: Residents of Philipse Manor have the option of immediate membership rights to the Philipse Manor Beach & Boat Club, while hikers and bikers are close to the all the trails of the Old Croton Aqueduct, North County Trailway, the Rockefeller Preserve, as well as the many miles of the Scenic Hudson RiverWalk. It’s also a short stroll to the train station (with no wait list for a parking spot, if you prefer to drive there) and then a 38-minute ride along the mighty Hudson into Grand Central Terminal for commuters.

Washington
What’s Here: A rare equestrian estate in Renton, a Seattle suburb, spreads out over almost 18 acres, with a five-bedroom farmhouse at its heart. The farmhouse, covering nearly 5,200 square feet, has a traditional covered porch with a swing, a formal living and dining room, and a eat-in kitchen. Upstairs, the bedrooms have fun details like bay windows with built-in window seats and reading nooks, plus there’s a bathroom with soaking tub lit by the skylights above. There’s also a fully finished basement that can be used as additional bedrooms, home offices, or as rec rooms and media rooms.
What We Love: With a detached seven-car garage, barn, and fenced arena, there’s plenty of space to turn the property into the country estate of your dreams. But this rustic splendor is only a half-hour drive from Seattle or Bellevue, so the pleasures of city life are still easily accessible.

Puerto Rico
What’s Here: Designed in the 1930s by Pedro Adolfo de Castro, this fabulous five-bedroom Santurce villa in Spanish Revival style also nods to Moroccan influences in its architecture and gardens. The house is wildly cinematic, with arched doorways throughout the property, and retains its original 12-foot ceilings, terrazzo flooring with bronze seams, custom mahogany woodwork, and details like stained-glass windows. The primary suite has a Juliet balcony overlooking the gardens and a hot tub in its own room next to the bathroom. From the second floor, there’s an external bridge that connects the main house to a separate wing with one bedroom, one bathroom, an office space, and an art gallery.
What We Love: Outside, there’s beautifully landscaped grounds, a fountain lined with mosaics, a sculpture garden, and a black-bottomed pool. The garden leads to the front façade, embedded with thousands of tiny shells, while a grand outdoor spiral staircase connects the house to the roof, where spectacular sunsets await.

Bahamas
What’s Here: A chic Caribbean escape on Harbour Island has five bedrooms and exudes the preppy island style for which Briland is known. You’ll find an inviting outdoor pool, bayfront views, and a private dock. The great room has an open plan layout, with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that lead directly out to the porch and pool, while central air and tile flooring keeps the house cool even on the hottest days.
What We Love: Snagging a place of your own on Harbour Island means getting a special spot in paradise, as this tiny island is free of mass development, mega-yachts, and even (mostly) cars, with most residents getting around on foot or by bike or golf cart. The property’s dock has space for vessels up to around 30 feet, which means you can tie up right by your door after a day of cruising in the Out Islands.
