Hawaii
What’s Here: There’s waterfront and then there’s waterfront. This four-bedroom, five-bathroom residence is located on one of Oahu’s most coveted stretches of beach, with the Pacific Ocean in front of the house and the Koolau Mountains rising majestically behind. The great room moves gracefully from the kitchen to the living and dining spaces, with walls lined with rows of oversized windows allowing views of the ocean, Rabbit Island, Makapu’u Point Lighthouse, and the Mokulua Islands. One bedroom has its own oceanfront balcony, while another has a private covered lanai with a glass roof. There’s also a home office on a mezzanine level that overlooks the great room.
What We Love: In addition to the primary house, there’s also an attached two-bedroom, two-bathroom guest suite, and there’s a path that leads directly from the property to a secluded beach. Though the neighborhood feels like its own magical world, it’s conveniently connected to Kailua, Hawaii Kai, Waikiki, and the Honolulu International Airport.

Northern California
What’s Here: This three-bedroom, four-bathroom new construction is tucked away in Oakland’s Crocker Highlands, built to take advantage of its sylvan surroundings. The house’s architecture plays with volume and light, with a striking stairwell — illuminated by skylights — running between all three levels. The entry boasts 12-foot ceilings, while the three bedrooms — including the primary suite with its own spa-style bathroom — each have sliding glass doors that offer direct access to a deck with a view of the surrounding woods and sky.
What We Love: All three floors open to outdoor living space, including a fire pit with seating, an al fresco dining area, and multiple decks. There’s also a lower-level bonus room that can be used as guest quarters, a home gym, a media space or an expansive home office.

What’s Here: “The Terrace” is a Gilded Age beauty, a five-bedroom Victorian that was originally built in 1867 as a hotel for the era’s bold-faced names, hosting the likes of Diamond Jim Brady and actress Lillian Russell. Long since transformed into a single-family home, the current owners have completely reimagined and restored the property so the entire estate looks like a John Singer Sargent painting come to life. The house is set on the hills overlooking the mighty Hudson River, with the focus of the interiors designed to frame the water views that dominate almost every room, including the grand living room, formal dining room, and five upstairs bedrooms. There’s also a separate two-story guest house that has a bedroom and a living area (a space that is currently used as a home gym), two bathrooms, a kitchenette and a wet bar, and a private entrance, allowing it to be used as a legal rental, if desired.
What We Love: The property’s grounds are an artistic masterpiece, with 1.4 acres of lush, painterly landscaping, complete with a heated gunite saltwater pool and spa, fruit trees, rose gardens, koi pond, and rolling lawns. The highlight of this hillside property is at the very top, where a private plateau, backed by stone walls and graced with seating nooks, offer space to contemplate the river through every season in and in the changing light from sunrise to sunset. The property is bordered by the Erie Rail Trail, a scenic walking and biking path that stretches from South Nyack to Sparkill.

East End
What’s Here: Coastal comforts and harmonious elegance define this Montauk residence — a four-bedroom main home and a two-bedroom guest house. Charm blankets the property, whether it’s the shingled exterior, the foyer’s wainscoting, the living room’s coffered ceiling, the kitchen’s window banquette breakfast nook, or any of the five fireplaces. Indoors and outdoors are seamlessly woven together, making entertaining irresistibly easy. The living room opens to a screened-in sunroom, which proceeds to a covered bluestone patio with an al fresco dining area. Two decks are found a level above, each providing heavenly glimpses of the ocean as it rolls into shore.
What We Love: The ocean isn’t just for staring at with adoration. If you tire of floating around in the heated gunite saltwater pool, found amid a positively picturesque Hamptons backyard, one quick trip down the street will have your toes dipped directly into the Atlantic. To further experience Montauk at its best, downtown is a single-digit-minute drive from home.

New York City
What’s Here: As a butterfly might, this three-bedroom Flatiron penthouse has emerged from a meticulous renovation to show off a profound beauty. A skylit hall draws you from the entry foyer, across chevron-patterned white oak floors, to a sunlight-flushed living and dining area. Boasting floor-to-ceiling windows and walls of sliding glass doors, this welcoming room is astounding for entertaining and merges with a beyond-immense terrace (more on that in a bit). The kitchen is right alongside, blending style and substance with aplomb. Uncover ultimate serenity in the primary suite, flaunting an ensuite that puts some spas to shame, tucked into a private wing of the home.
What We Love: The aforementioned terrace takes indoor-outdoor living in NYC to a whole other level. At well over 3,300 square feet, it wraps around the building’s western side, more than doubles the home’s footprint, and comes packed with appeal for you and the guests you’ll almost certainly be hosting. To that end, there are intimate seating areas, an open-air dining space, cabanas, and a fire pit lounge. Meanwhile, unobstructed vistas encompassing the Empire State Building bestow a perspective that makes the city feel impossibly still.

South Florida
What’s Here: Staggering modernity on the Lake Worth Lagoon waterfront, where living effortlessly means doing it with flair — no shoes required, it’s Barefoot Lane after all. An open plan great room is the main floor’s nexus, featuring a living space centered on an imposing gas fireplace, a kitchen that glistens with Dolce Vita countertops, and a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass. Ascending the central, custom-built staircase feels like moving through a sculpture, as the main level’s Brazilian porcelain tile floors change to white oak ones on levels two and three. The primary suite (one of five ensuite bedrooms) is a treasure chest of riches, featuring dual closets, a steam room, and a private terrace overlooking the water.
What We Love: Every level of this home has at least one outdoor space. The great room opens onto a covered deck with a sitting area and a kitchen, and steps down to a chic pool area — there’s also a private dock. Aside from the second floor’s primary suite terrace, there is a delightful balcony off one of the guest bedrooms and a sun-soaked expanse facing the front of the home. Crowning everything, the third level’s terrace is awash in natural light and an ideal gathering place thanks to its grill and bar.

NW Florida
What’s Here: This is indoor-outdoor living at its finest, with natural light flooding every room in this four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom new construction house in Santa Rosa Beach. It’s an easy, breezy, beautiful life here, with the three junior suites located on the ground floor, sharing the space with an entertainment room that opens with sliding glass doors directly to the pool, plus a mudroom with laundry. Unusually, the public spaces are upstairs, including a dramatic open-concept living and dining space, with 12-foot ceilings, a fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, and a dining area with vaulted wood ceilings. Most strikingly, the space’s walls of glass, which frame dramatic Gulf vistas, are echoed by the covered terrace that connects to the dining area with glass doors, allowing just a few steps between the choice of indoor or outdoor dining.
What We Love: The viewing deck on the very tippy top of the house gives a front-row seat to Emerald Coast sunsets and is connected to a small wet bar, so you can fix yourself either a morning espresso or an evening cocktail before heading out to enjoy the view. In addition to the property’s own pool, residents of the private gated enclave of Heritage Dunes have access to a spacious Gulfside pool and more than 200 feet of private beach frontage.

Georgia
What’s Here: This c. 1895 Greek Revival estate is a Savannah icon, located in the Thomas Square Streetcar Historic District, with seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. As the house is currently being used as an inn — with each suite boasting a bedroom, living area, kitchen, and bathroom — the structure has five kitchens, though the opportunity exists to transform the property back into a single-family home. The house was immortalized as the setting in John Jakes’ 2005 novel Savannah, and Condé Nast Traveler wrote, “It’s impossible not to be awed by [this] historic mansion. The huge, two-story pillars and immaculate topiary [makes the house] something very special.”
What We Love: Southern charm is here in abundance, with details like a window seat set under a stained-glass window, a 1,020-square-foot private porch, and a garden shaded by live oaks, planted with lush, drought-tolerant plantings, and even boasting its own pergola. Practically, the property also includes rare off-street Historic District parking for four vehicles.

Maryland
What’s Here: An exemplar of Colonial Revival architecture, this 1913 six-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home in Baltimore is the perfect marriage between preservation and modernity. Original features include the original glass sidelights flanking the front door, double pocket doors with intact pocket covers for the principal rooms, and a staircase with carved trim. The chef’s kitchen is anchored around a Wolf commercial six-burner gas range with double ovens, griddle, and brass pot filler, and along with a 48-inch SubZero PRO refrigerator, is designed to support the most ambitious of chefs and entertainers.
What We Love: The grounds include an outdoor fireplace and a pool, while expansive lawns, a stone gazebo, and the tall mature trees around the perimeter of this nearly 3.5-acre property make this home feel like a totally private retreat.

Canada
What’s Here: Fine geometry conceived with a mathematician-like precision in a forested corner of Cambridge, Ontario. This home’s triangular visage, evident in the overall structure and several oversized windows, commands immediate attention and foreshadows a head-turning interior. The overall design aesthetic matches eclecticism with thoughtful intention. From room to room, you’ll see vaulted wooden ceilings, fieldstone walls, tremendous circular doorways, spiral staircases, corner fireplaces, a ship-themed bar, a telescope observatory (and more), and never bat an eye. Outside, the wonder continues with a sizeable outdoor kitchen station, a swimming pool, and an ever-present sense of tranquility.
What We Love: Talking in circles is not a bad thing when it comes to the primary bedroom. This sunken sleeping quarter is round, with a bed shaped to match. Roll out of bed and step directly up to a built-in soaking tub, pointedly draped in natural light through a triangular window.

Puerto Rico
What’s Here: A paradisiacal perch to overlook Condado, Santurce, and San Juan at large (not to mention the Atlantic Ocean). This four-bedroom penthouse encompasses two floors, with an intentional divide between private and social spaces. All bedrooms are below, alongside a home gym, an office, a family room, and a balcony boasting cityscape views. Upstairs, it’s all about entertaining in the sun-dappled living and dining rooms and the open kitchen featuring a center island, with an assist from a temperature-controlled, 378-bottle wine cellar. Custom finishes are abundant, including marble and hardwood floors, tile mosaics, and built-ins.
What We Love: The upper level’s wraparound terrace is a show worth the price of admission. Come for the saltwater pool, the copious lounge areas, and the outdoor kitchen — boasting a stove, an Argentinian grill, and a pizza oven. Stay all day and all night for the showstopping, 360-degree vistas.

Germany
What’s Here: A five-bedroom, two-bathroom loft in the renowned Bauhaus-era Taut House at Engelbecken in Berlin, one of the city’s most architecturally significant buildings. Designed by brothers Bruno and Max Taut, this notable corner building — a model of Modernist design — was originally built for the trade union of transport workers in 1932. In 2012, it was renovated into a residential building, with commercial tenants on the street level. This fourth-floor loft is a chic example of Berlin style, with an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area that look out to an adjoining balcony, which is connected with floor-to-ceiling glass doors to the interior spaces, blurring the line between the indoors and outdoors.
What We Love: Unusually, the unit can be split into two, with one unit located to one side of the entrance area. This secondary unit can be configured as an artist’s studio (its current use), guest quarters, or even as a rental apartment, as the two units are registered under two separate land registry entries (“Grundbücher”).
